Atlanta Trails, the outdoor adventure online magazine, is raving about Big Canoe’s Discovery Package. Their three-day, two-night stay in a beautiful mountain home in the Wildcat neighborhood gave them ample opportunity to explore Big Canoe’s miles of trails. Along with luxury lodging, the Discovery Package includes one 18-hole round of golf, a $50 gift card to the Clubhouse or pro shop, and a private tour.
It’s no wonder Atlanta Trails was impressed; Big Canoe was rated the Best Hiking Community in 2015 thanks to more than 20 miles of trails that meander through lush glens, past cascading waterfalls, and over picturesque bridges. Hikers enjoy the varying levels of difficulty, from the heart-pounding Nancy Womack Trail, a steep climb to the summit of Mt. Oglethorpe, to the nearly flat Jeep Trail, which doubles as a 4×4 playground and includes a historic moonshiner’s cabin along the way.
But the Discovery Package isn’t just about roaming through pristine nature preserves. Atlanta Trails rented a pontoon boat at the marina and loved the “blissful quiet” of our electric-only motors on Lake Petit. They loved our “glassy coves” and the “natural mountain vibe” they encountered throughout Big Canoe.
Atlanta Trails was also impressed by the Swim Club at Lake Disharoon and the Wildcat Recreation Center, our award-winning golf course, our tennis and fitness centers, full-service spa, and dining at the Clubhouse. Their final verdict? The Discovery Package is a fabulous way to experience Canoe Life for yourself.
